The Nkoko Nkitinkiti (Poultry) Project, a flagship agricultural initiative introduced by the President of the Republic of Ghana, has officially commenced in the Municipality.
Under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), the Municipal Department of Agriculture has commenced the distribution of poultry inputs to selected beneficiaries as part of efforts to promote poultry production and improve the livelihoods of farmers within the Municipality.
The Municipal Director of Agriculture led the distribution exercise, during which beneficiaries received the necessary poultry inputs to enable them to successfully establish and manage their poultry farms.
As part of the exercise, beneficiaries were also sensitized on the implementation of the project, with emphasis on proper management practices, animal husbandry, feeding, disease prevention, and other measures necessary to ensure the success and sustainability of the initiative.
The project is expected to contribute to increased poultry production, create employment opportunities, improve household incomes, and support the Government’s efforts to strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector and promote food security.
The Municipal Department of Agriculture will continue to provide the necessary technical guidance and support to beneficiaries to ensure the effective implementation of the Nkoko Nkitinkiti Project within the Municipality.
