WASSA AMENFI WEST DEEPENS CHILD PROTECTION
The welfare of children is utmost to the state, families, parents/guardians, local and international agencies hence the need for legal frameworks, conventions and other regulations to ensuring the expected welfare of children. Under no condition should any activity being economic, domestic or any other interfere with children’s schooling, health, physical and mental wellbeing. Therefore, the state, Non Profit Organizations (NPOs) and other international agencies run various programs and projects towards awareness creation to prevent child labour occurrences, and ensure other welfare services.
In view of the above, the Municipal Assembly in collaboration with Non Profit Organizations ECOM Ghana/Better Life Initiatives and Agro Eco Ghana organized child labour sensitization in eighteen communities across the Municipality. This included the formation of five (5) Community Child Protection Committees (CCPCs) to serve as a watchdog committee for the purposes of ensuring welfare of children.
