GIZ ORGANISES TWO-DAY TRAINING FOR MUNICIPAL BUDGET COMMITTEE
As part of efforts to strengthen local government financial management and improve the effectiveness of municipal budgeting, a team from the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) has visited the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Assembly to conduct a two-day training for members of the Municipal Budget Committee.
The training formed part of an initiative targeting selected Municipalities to enhance the capacity of key stakeholders involved in the preparation and implementation of municipal budgets.
During the training, the GIZ team emphasized the important role of the Budget Committee in ensuring effective planning, preparation and implementation of the Municipal budget. Members were taken through key areas aimed at strengthening their understanding of the budgeting process and improving their ability to contribute meaningfully to the Municipality’s financial planning.

The facilitators also highlighted the need for effective coordination and collaboration among members of the Committee to ensure that the Municipal budget reflects the development priorities and needs of the Municipality.
The two-day training provided members with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in municipal budgeting and to identify practical approaches to improving the overall budget process.

The initiative is expected to contribute to more effective budget planning and improved delivery of development programmes and projects within the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality.
