WASSA AMENFI WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY’S 40TH FARMERS DAY CELEBRATION
The 40th edition of the farmer’s day was celebrated on Friday 8th November, 2024 in Asankran Oda Kotoamso at the community’s Park. The theme for this year’s celebration was “BUILDING CLIMATE RESILIENT FOR SUSTAINABLE FOOD SECURITY”.
The Municipal Chief Executive (Honorable Lord Nana Tandoh), the Coordinating Director (Mr. Daniel Konney), the Member of Parliament (Honorable Eric Afful), the Agric Director (Mrs. Patience Amoah Frimpong), the Regional Best Farmer (Naa Adjeley), the Heads of Department, the Chief Police Commander, Nanaom of Asankran Oda Kotoamso and the nearby communities, amongst others honored the program with their presence.
In all, 22 farmers were awarded. They received items including, motor tricycle, cutlasses, spraying machines, citations, wellington boots, televisions Sets , fridges, fertilizer, etc
About 40 exhibitors of food crops and livestock were also given cutlasses.
The Overall Best Farmer for Wassa Amenfi West went to Mr. Stephen Oheme Boateng from Kamaso. He received a Motor Tricycle, cutlasses, wellington boots, fertilizer etc.
