INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY CELEBRATION: WASSA AMENFI WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The first edition of the International Women’s Day Celebration was held on Friday 8th March, 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Hall at 11 am.

National Commission for Civic Education in collaboration with Gender desk at the municipal assembly organized the first edition of the International Women’s Day in Wassa Amenfi West. The theme for the Women’s Day celebration was Inspire Inclusion

The Director of NCCE Mrs. Gloria Addisu Hashford and gender desk representative, Miss Naomi Krakue, the Municipal Agricultural Officer, Presbyterian Women’s Fellowship, Ghana Police Service Women’s Division Asanko, Ghana Immigration Service Women’s Division Asanko, Ghana Fire Service Women’s Commission Asanko, municipal assembly’s female staff amongst others honored the program with their presence.

The Municipal Agricultural officer Mrs. Patience Amoah Frimpong, in her speech, charged women to take leadership roles in the community and especially at the work place. Using herself as an example, she encouraged women that when there is a vacancy for any leadership role at the workplace, they shouldn’t be afraid but rather take up the position.

The Director of NCCE Mrs. Gloria Addisu Hashford  also encouraged women to be bold and courageous and pleaded with the young women in the community to take their education serious and go further to take leadership roles in the community.
