WASSA AMENFI WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY DONATES ITEMS TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITY
On Friday, 23rd August 2024, the Social Welfare and Community Development Department (SWCD) of the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Assembly distributed items to Persons with Disability (PWD) in the municipality. The items included deep freezers, fufu pounding machines, industrial sowing machines, mechanical tool kits, Dryers for hairdressers as well as cash donations to cover the medical bill of some of the members.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable Lord Nana Tandoh in his speech, pointed out that, the disbursement of the items is from the District Assemblies Common Fund allocated for the Persons with Disability to aid them in their daily lives. He entreated all the people who received the items to use them to make living for themselves and advised them against selling of the items received.
Mr. Larwey, the Head of Department for Social Welfare and Community Development in his speech, indicated that the items were purchased based on the request of the beneficiaries to enable them venture into small businesses and also learn a trade in order to cater for their families.
