WASSA AMENFI WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY SIGNS AN MOU WITH NUMA
On 26th February 2026, the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Assembly recorded a major milestone in its development drive as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), together with the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NUMA, a body under 4ward Development. The agreement formally ushered NUMA into the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality to commence operations.
The brief but significant ceremony, held at the Municipal Assembly, reaffirmed the Assembly’s strong commitment to building strategic partnerships with reputable private institutions to accelerate local development and improve service delivery.
NUMA, operating under 4ward Development, is a multinational provider of safe and affordable water services and products. The organization specializes in delivering professional, reliable, and safe water solutions to customers in rural and peri-urban communities. Its mandate focuses on improving access to potable water through innovative systems, sustainable service models, and customer-centered water product delivery.
Through this partnership, NUMA will work closely with the Assembly to expand access to safe drinking water, particularly in underserved and hard-to-reach communities within the municipality.
The signing of the MOU demonstrates the strong collaboration between the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Assembly and private institutions committed to sustainable development. The Assembly continues to recognize that effective public–private partnerships are critical in addressing infrastructure gaps and enhancing the quality of life of residents.
The event was witnessed by key Assembly officials, including the Municipal Director of Education, the Municipal Health Director, the Municipal Director of Agriculture, the Environmental Health Officer, the Internal Auditor, and the Municipal Statistician, among other senior officers. Their presence highlighted the cross-sectoral importance of improved water access to education, health, agriculture, sanitation, and overall municipal planning.
In her remarks, the MCE reiterated her firm commitment to ensuring that the good people of Wassa Amenfi West gain access to safe and potable water. She emphasized that access to clean water remains a top priority of her administration, as it directly impacts health outcomes, productivity, and socio-economic development.
The MCE expressed confidence that the partnership with NUMA will significantly contribute to bridging the water access gap in rural and peri-urban communities across the municipality.
